Change of season-time to get grounded

Seasonal rhythms in Ayurveda are key to staying or finding balance. We look to the environment to take the cues of what to do and what to eat. Now is the time like the leave to go to the ground as the fruits and leaves are ending the growing season. We start to see the nutrients return to the earth to help the plants survive the cold and dry seasons of fall and winter. So fall fruits like apples and applesauce is perfect along with pumpkin, squash and root vegetables. Think about adding a bit of sustenance to meals as things including our environment are dry. Warming and spices such as cinnamon, cardamom, ginger and nutmeg  can be used in meals and desserts.
